Another Aeronautical First

  Aeronautical Instrumentation is proud to announce another South African First in Business aviation. In December 2014, we successfully completed the first Cobham Aviator 200 on board WiFi and telecommunications system installation into a Beechcraft B200, ZS-SMC. Along with this system we removed the existing Radar screen and replaced it with an Avidyne EX600 MFD and removed the King KLN90 GPS and installed a Garmin GTN 625. With the appropriate converters installed and coupled to the autopilot, the aircraft now has full GPSS and RNAV capability, along with a situational awareness that is unsurpassed. This client also opted to install an Avidyne TAS traffic system for his flying in upper Africa. This installation was not without its difficulties. This aircrafts down time was in excess of three months due to the nature of this installation but generally the installation went very smoothly. The tricky part was the integration of the local cellular providers and Cobham on integration issues. Now that these have been resolved the Aviator 200 system can be installed in 7 weeks. The Cobham Aviator 200 is now FAA STC’d for the B200, B300 and B350 range and costs are approximately R 950 000,00 ex vat fully installed. Contact Clinton for a free quote for your aircraft.
