ADS-B Upgrades Now Available for EX5000/ EX500/ EX600 MFD and Entegra Release 9-equipped aircraft

Aeronautical Instrumentation is pleased to announce the availability of ADS-B upgrades for Entegra EX5000 MFD, EX500/600 MFDs, and Entegra R9 systems.

ADS-B for EX5000 MFD:

R8.2 adds display capability of FIS-B Weather using Capstone-standard protocol and ADS-B/ ADS-R/ TIS-B Traffic using ARINC429/735 protocol.

R8.2 makes the EX5000 MFD compatible with Avidyne’s SkyTrax100 ADSB IN Receiver, plus it adds compatibility with third-party systems including Lynx NGT-9000, Garmin GTX345, FreeFlight RANGR-RX, and other Capstone/735-compatible ADS-B IN receivers.

R8.2 allows FIS-B Weather & ADS-B Traffic to be displayed on Entegra/ EX5000 MFD.

All EX5000 MFDs can be updated to Release 8.2 via field-loadable software via Compact Flash (CF) by Aeronautical Instrumentation. R8.2 software is $ 1,150.00 plus R 975.00 ex Vat labour. Proof of previous purchase is required. Note that R8.2 upgrade is not covered under Avidyne warranty.

It is also important to note that R8.2 removes support for MLB700 Sirius and MLX770 Iridium Satellite Weather systems. If a customer is currently using either of these systems and wants to continue to do so, do not upgrade to R8.2 as you will not be able to go back. R8,2 will still support XMD-076/A for XM.

ADS-B for EX500/EX600 MFD:R4.2 adds display capability of FIS-B Weather using Capstone-standard protocol and ADS-B/ADS-R/TIS-B Traffic using ARINC429/735 protocol.

R4.2 makes the EX500 and EX600 MFDs compatible with SkyTrax100 ADSB IN Receiver, plus it adds compatibility with 3^rd-party systems including Lynx NGT-9000, Garmin GTX345, FreeFlight RANGR-RX, or other Capstone/735-compatible ADS-B IN receivers.

R4.2 allows FIS-B Weather & ADS-B Traffic to be displayed on EX500 & EX600 MFDs.

Please note that R4.2 removes support for MLB700 Sirius and MLX770 Iridium Satellite Weather systems on the EX500/600. If the customers is currently using either of these systems and wants to continue to do so, do not upgrade to R4.2 as you will not be able to go back. R4,2 will still support XMD-076/A for XM.

All EX500 and EX600 units must go back to Avidyne for updating. R4.2 software is $ 1,150.00 excluding freight. The R4.2 upgrade is not covered under Avidyne’s warranty.

ADS-B for Entegra R9:R9.4 adds interface capability to the Avidyne AXP322 Remote-mounted Mode S Transponder, providing an upgrade path to ADS-B OUT for those R9 customers currently using a Becker remote-mounted Mode A/C transponder.

Previously, R9.3 added approval for R9 as the GPS position source for the Avidyne AXP340 Panel-mounted Mode S Transponder for ADS-B OUT.

R9.4 adds FIS-B Weather & ADS-B Traffic on the R9 displays, plus AXP322 for ADS-B OUT.

For ADS-B IN, R9.4 software adds display capability of FIS-B Weather and ADS-B/ADS-R/TIS-B Traffic on the R9/IFD5000 displays using Avidyne’s SkyTrax100 Series ADS-B IN Receiver. R9.4 is a field-loadable software upgrade for systems that are currently at R9.3 or greater. Older systems will require hardware be returned to the factory for upgrading.

R9.4 software is $ 1,150.00 plus R 975.00 ex Vat labour. The R9.4 upgrade is not covered under Avidyne’s warranty.

L-3 Avionics and Avidyne have Joined forces to provide a full ADS-B IN/OUT Solution for the Legacy Avidyne Systems. The Avidyne Entegra Display’s are capable of displaying all Weather and Traffic information received from the ADS-B network.
